Just one Life (Part 2) - Geoffrey Woo

Just one Life (Part 2) - Geoffrey Woo Lyrics of this song by my old friend Geo came to my mind this morning Show me Lord   The way to please You Lord   How can I show You Lord my love for You?   Touch me now   And consecrate me now   And let me feel the warmth of Your embrace   Take away my sins   The Spirit to replace   Fill my heart with overflowing praise   Just one life   I have but just one life   I dedicate this life to only You   Take my life and make it worthy of your love   All that's past is worthless   Like the grass that withers   Laid my head in sin's death-bed   Jesus came and raised me with His flame   Created within me a brand new heart   His love surrounds me now   And makes my fears depart   In His plan I have a special part   Just one life   I have but just one life   I dedicate this life to only You   Take my life an...

Don't give up on me! Amy Grant

An old Amy Grant song came to my mind today ... Read Don’t Give Up On Me Lyrics here. Dont give up on me, Though I know at times its hard to see; All my many weaknesses Might blind you, I must remind you, Dont give up on me, Even when I act so selfishly, All my views are all I see. Yes, I know theres still so much of me, But God is working constantly, To shape me, Hell remake me. Dont give up on me. Im gonna make it. I know its hard for you to see. Dont give up on me, I couldnt take it. If a part of me should keep you from seeing The part of me that youd start to believe in, Im changin so please dont give up on me. Dont give up on me, Even when I fail so miserably. Time and again I know I stumble, It makes me humble. Dont give up on me. But never let your love to be Hanging on the things you see, Counting all the times I fail to be Everything you want from me; Im trying. Hear me crying. Dont give up on me. Im gonna make it. I know its hard ...

Geoffrey Woo Ramblings

Image
It was nice to reconnect with Geoffrey via Facebook (Yes FB has it's positives) earlier this year. I first met him more than 25 years ago! And I got to know him and his heart when we served together in a special SU Camp. That was the year too I first got to know my good friend Allan Yong. Allan Yong became an inspiration for me (a good role model of a man of God on fire for God ... and he still is) especially in the area of youth work (but that is another story) Anyway Geoff (now may be known as Geo?) made a big impression on me as well. Down to earth and to me a bit of an "eccentric"! A "greenie" before being green was "an in-thing". He would cycle practically everywhere on his bike, often turning up sweaty! :-) But he had a passion for Jesus that was very evident (and I hear that this passion has not waned but has kept growing! Praise God!) One major thing I picked up from him that still has remained as a huge impression on me was his deep sense ...

Blood down the drain

A song written and sung by Gladwyn Gomes, one of our church members who currently lives in Wellington.

You are not alone

Suddenly felt the desire to listen to a Michael Jackson song ... :-) Just love the way he sings the chorus! Everyday I sit and ask myself How did love slip away Something whispers in my ear and says That you are not alone For I am here with you Though you're far away I am here to stay But you are not alone For I am here with you Though we're far apart You're always in my heart But you are not alone

Billie Jean video- Michael Jackson and Steve Martin

I am a fan of Michael Jackson's dancing in Billie Jean and I happened across this Steve Martin parody ... Funny :-)

Hometown Acoustic Rock Worship Leader Wins American Idol Competition

Image
For the record I have not been following "American Idol". Stopped watching after the season where the cute Jasmine Trias (the one with the flower behind her ear) got kicked out :-) Not sure what season that was ... Anyway once in a while I watch the show (if it is playing in the background) and I thought this guy was good. Did not realize he was a "worship pastor"! (never heard of that term either ...) Interesting ANS report and I wish Kriss all the best in his ministry ... a rambling random catching up post

Haven't posted for a few days. Been busy la :-) Also somehow been feeling rather tired of late. By 9 PM or so I find that I start to get drowsy and when I do sleep I have been finding that I wake up still feeling drowsy and have to force myself to get up (even though it wasn't a deep sleep). I suspect that it is because the sunrise is not as early anymore now that it is already mid autumn. We put in a ventilation system (DVS) in our house a few weeks ago. We have been saving since July (when we bought our house) for a heat pump but decided that a DVS would be better value for money and more relevant to our house needs. Our house is pretty cooling in summer (we have lots of windows that can open wide unlike our previous place) and it is not that cold either. But moisture / condensation has been a bigger problem (esp with a certain son's room) and two of us in the house have dust mite / dust allergies. So DVS it was ... and we are pretty pleased with it. Next on our to consid...
