I have not blogged in a while ... and was reading and commenting on a friend's blog and posted this (below)  in the comments section ... thought I would repost my own comments here even if the context might not make sense :-) A couple of days ago I saw an episode (rerun) of one of fav sitcoms (Home Improvement). Tim had an ethical dilemma as he was asked to promote an inferior tool (new line of Binford tools).  His new boss / owner (the founder and Tim's mentor, Binford had already passed away) refused to fix the inferior tool and Tim was given an ultimatum - promote the tool, endorse it on Tool Time or be sacked. To lose his job at Binford was more than just losing his TV show, drop in income etc but would force him to have to go back to the only other job he was good at - selling tools which meant long weeks away from his family. This time even Wilson could offer no help - he was left with the question - how important was this to him - the Binford quality / name, hi...

The LOST grand finale was finally shown on NZ TV last night and I must say that I found it so disappointing. I think the writers were over zealous in trying to hook us onto the show and in the process also got lost!.In fact I think the got lost the whole of the last season and were stumbling about in the dark, and the more they tried to answer the numerous loose ends they created, the more they messed up. Were they writing the each episode straight after the last one? I think I will boycott watching some of these series if FLASH FORWARD ends up in a similar fashion. I can think off the top of my head half a dozen better endings that would have been more satisfying ending despite the fact that they would not tie off the many loose ends. Yet even then, it would only be possible if they did not write season 6 the way they did and complicate the story line even more, If they just tied up a few loose ends every now and then in each season, it would have made their task so much easier....

Thursday night games was cancelled last night so I stayed home and found that "Criminal Minds" was on TV. It is one crime drama that I have not really watched properly (i.e. never seen a full episode from beginning to end) so I thought it would be a good chance to watch it.  I was particularly curious as some months back actor  "Mandy" Patinkin was in Auckland and he was interviewed on a Morning Breakfast show (I think), and was asked why he left the show at its height. He made some interesting comments (what they were, I'll share later). BTW, I listened to the interview because I happen to like his portrayal of the Dr. Jeffrey Geiger character in  Chicago Hope - the piano playing doctor! Also the promos for the TV series on TV were rather intriguing ... So I watched and it was to me a disturbing episode yet at the same time it almost sort of did not bother me. I did a quick google and I found it was episode 15, season 4, Zoe's Reprise . ..  The ...

Over the last few days I have been getting up extra early. Sleep patterns a little off. Tired at night and so I sleep earlier but I end up getting up every early. A few days ago I found out that an old sitcom Charles in Charge is on at 6.30 AM. It was really fun watching it as it was one of my favourite shows (mid 80s) even though I thought the acting was terrible and many scenes really "corny". :-) After watching two episodes over the last few days, I can confirm that I still think the acting is generally terrible and many scenes still corny! LOL I think the episodes I watched were from the First Season. I stopped watching when they changed the supporting cast (Pembroke family) ... I think it was cancelled on Malaysian TV? However I still like the show as I miss the old style silly sitcoms that had within its storyline a moral or story to teach. And I have always liked Willie Aames crazy character Buddy Lembeck. Girl crazy etc but so lovable. Best of all, never anything ...

It has been a tiring few weeks. One major reason has been a problem with my prescription glasses. *sigh* Makes my eyes so tired that I literally have to shut them. And of course it is hard to focus. Hope the new ones are ready soon. I tend to sleep a little earlier too as I literally can't keep my eyes opened but I dream a lot and get up often as my "brain is not happy" to be asked to power down when it has a lot on its mind :-) The human mind is really a wonder! Anyway, I have finished this Sunday's sermon early, which is good as I have a lot to do this week. And this time I am not going to work harder in resisting the temptation to look at my sermon before Saturday. And since I have a birthday party on Saturday, that might help as well :-) It's a good time to pause and do some re-centering. Been a while since I posted up anything on my slow but steady "run" with Dr. Alex's book so here's one ... under his 'HEROES AND SUPERHEROES" cate...
