A friend sent me this article and it may me think. Actually I am not sure how to react as I had never before this really thought of the subject of masculinity and the new "sexuality emancipated world" from this perspective. But one thing that almost immediately came to mind is the "perfecto Italiano" cheese ads that I have seen recently on NZ Television (I found a couple on youtube and embedded it after the article). I do remember a number of occasions when I was much younger (*sigh* - the good old days? :-)) being told off by a few times by some girls (back in the 80s) when I opened the door for them  (as in when entering a room, I instinctively open the door and hold it open for them to pass through first) and when I offered to carry their bags etc. Reason given was in the area of "do you think I am helpless?" and "I can do it myself, I don;t need your help", (can't remember the exact terms). Something to view, think and pray about .... This is a good video put up of Malaysia Boleh! Both the positive,i.e. the people of Malaysia, and the negative, i.e. the BN led authorities. Having my lunch and thought I'd watch some videos. This is DISTURBING!!! But personally, and sadly not surprising as I have lots of first hand experience listening to this back in the early to mid 80s. God help us! Can't these people see how wrong it is to sow hatred? And to a child too!

Just posted up my latest Pastor's Notes which is basically the lyrics of a song and a youtube video! It's a great song that when I first heard it in the 90s made me cry ... rediscovering it again in video form was a blessing. But I know that despite how powerful the song may be, posting about it now might open up a huge can of worms ... But hey, it is a great song so I will take the risk ... Here's another youtube video of another song by this singer / writer. I have this song on CD and it is very moving. Nice to find a youtube version. Hmm ... it seems you can find almost anything on youtube nowadays ...

Something light and fun to start the day with ... got a lot of visitation today so that is nice :-) Presenting the winner - Charlie Caper ... a magician!!!. :-) This I think is his first round performance. Haven't posted for a few days. Been busy la :-) Also somehow been feeling rather tired of late. By 9 PM or so I find that I start to get drowsy and when I do sleep I have been finding that I wake up still feeling drowsy and have to force myself to get up (even though it wasn't a deep sleep). I suspect that it is because the sunrise is not as early anymore now that it is already mid autumn. We put in a ventilation system (DVS) in our house a few weeks ago. We have been saving since July (when we bought our house) for a heat pump but decided that a DVS would be better value for money and more relevant to our house needs. Our house is pretty cooling in summer (we have lots of windows that can open wide unlike our previous place) and it is not that cold either. But moisture / condensation has been a bigger problem (esp with a certain son's room) and two of us in the house have dust mite / dust allergies. So DVS it was ... and we are pretty pleased with it.
